Outdoor lighting project

I love this lighting idea and what a fun project. I think it would be super easy to do and it creates great lighting for a dinner party.

Things I like

Just a few items that I have seen recently that I really like. And they are some what affordable.

I love the simplicity of this round back chair from West Elm. I think the white would look great paired with a rustic dark wood farm style table. The contrast of style and color would make a great look. They are on sale right now for $129.99. Not bad!


I am thinking about getting this shelf. I love the openness of it, yet it's sturdy enough to hold somethings of weight like photo albums. We rearranged some furniture recently, moved little ones craft table to her bedroom and opened up a whole wall. Now what to do. This would be perfect.


Upholstered headboards are all the rage right now. Here are two that are great looking and great priced. The first one is from West Elm and is just a head board for $319.00 which isn't too bad. The second one is from World Market. I've seen it in person and it's really great. It is on sale right, also, for $319.00. Makes me wish I were redecorating my bedroom!



I really like this etagere from World Market. It is wood and metal and looks a bit vintage. It would certainly go in any decor, but I like the idea of a vintage feel. Hey it might just work in place of the one above from West Elm. Will have to check it out.


These cubes are great fun. They are cute and are great for extra seating. The first one is from World Market and is $39.99 and the second one is from West Elm and is priced, I believe, at $99.99

The Willows

I started my trip out west visiting a store that I have admired on the internet, The Willows. The store delivered as promised. It's BEAUTIFUL! My heart was beating fast the whole time I was in there. There were so many great things that I loved, it is just my style. And it was styled perfectly.

I could have bought so many things but, as this was the first stop on our trip out west, I had to be conservative. I did buy a pair of numbered votive holders with the dates of my anniversary, since this was an anniversary trip. They are simple, slightly industrial looking with metal rims, and look great on my mantle.

West Elm Fall Preview

Here is a look at what is to come for Fall! Not that I'm in a hurry but just look at these images. I love everything about each of them. I especially love this rug. Makes me want to do some decorating changes soon.









I think I may have to have one of the ottoman's, I love the texture that it would add to a room. And I love the gray tones used through out. My new neutral is gray. This makes me look forward to fall.

It's a recycled wood mirror made from recycled marine wood and is on sale for only $119.00 This mirror would look great in a small bathroom over a pedestal sink, in a living room over a mantle or over a bed to create a great cottage look. The canvas bag is a french industrial style bag that comes in two sizes, small and large. The small bag is on sale for only $20.00 and the large bag is $30.00. I love the small one and would love to have it to use as storage in my car for toys and things. They would also be great in a bathroom to hold towels or by a fire place to hold logs. The uses are endless.
