I've got the weekend on my mind......

Happy Friday

It has been a long week and I am ready for the weekend.

Here is a highlight of my week.

I am taking an on line e-class called Blogging Your Way which is being administered by Holly Becker the writer of the blog Decor 8. If you haven't seen her blog you have to take a look. She was the pioneer for design blogs and has impeccable style. I am really enjoying the class, learning about how to make my blog more successful. I am learning a lot and feel like I am back in school. I have class three times a week with a homework assignments each week. It's been a long time since I was in school and have really had a lot of fun with it.

I am also taking a cake decorating course. I have been baking for a while and decided to take a class to perfect my decorating. It's been a lot of fun. I meet for class one night a week with baking for the class before hand. I really enjoy baking for my friends and for my daughter and thought it would be a great way for me to utilize my creativity.

We also had open house at school this week, I volunteered at school, met with a lady I'm going to be doing some business with and got to have lunch with my gal pals.

It's been a great, though busy, week.

And for the weekend we are getting a puppy. It will be filled with puppy love. We are so excited. It's going to be a complete surprise for the little princess. She knows we are getting a puppy, one day, but has no idea that it's today. I'm a bit anxious about the surprise and having a puppy. It's been five years since I had a pet and he was a beloved persian cat that lived to be 18 years old. It has taken me this long to replace him. I would have loved to have had another cat but my little lady is allergic to them and well, she loves dogs. We are getting a Mini Golden Doodle. So cute and more importantly hypoallergenic and non-shedding. My fear is that she won't end up being "mini" but I guess by then it will be too late, I will be in love. My husband is picking her up and bringing her home and as a result, every sound I hear, which is my little girl near the front door, makes me jump in excitement. They should be here soon. Yippee!!! I will definitely post pictures of our weekend with the new member of our family on Monday.

It's time for Fall

You will start seeing fall decor in all of the stores and I am thrilled. I love LOVE this time of year. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy summer but when it's over and it's time for the season to change (theoretically down here in Florida) I just get overjoyed at seeing scarecrows, bales of hay, halloween decorations, the great colors and wishes for falling leaves. It's such a festive time and it marks the beginning of the holiday season.

Target for Fall

I went to Target today for the first time in a few weeks. They are all decked out for fall and have some great things. I just love seeing fall decorations in the stores. It just gives me a holiday feel. They are also featuring a few designer lines that you have to check out. It's definitely worth a trip to Target for fall inspiration. I took some pictures, I apologize for the picture quality, I couldn't get the lighting down. And, I'm not the best photographer, but I am practicing.

Look at the colors in this collection. Really pretty burnt oranges and pinks. Reminds me of leaves falling from the trees at home. Pretty fall colors. I especially like the butterfly patterned dress. I think it would be really pretty paired over some dark jeans and strap-y sandals. I also really like the look in the merchandising sign on the girl sitting down. She's wearing the orange polka dot top below and a tunic top that I didn't see today. I love this look.

This is a great line with everything from coffee mugs, picture frames, trays and office supplies. It's all so pretty with a decoupage look of natural items. It's a great vintage feel.

It was a jeans kind of week. It's funny, I am really a baggy, boyfriend, beach-y jeans wearer and once I started taking pictures they seemed to look so slouchy and un-flattering. They are still great for weekend wear but I feel better that I am presenting myself a bit better now.

Lands End Canvas Line

Can you believe they are from Lands End and can be found at Sears? Who knew. Well, I actually new that Lands End was selling their line at Sears, they have been for years, but what I didn't know was that they now have such fantastic style. I think I'll become a sears shopper.

The Willows Home And Garden

Though it's still 93 degrees here in sunny Florida, I am in the Fall frame of mind. I keep chanting to myself, Yes it's Fall, Yes it's Fall. I am so envious of the places that are already starting to feel a crispness in the air, leaves falling and fire places burning. All great things at the start of fall. It will be a while before we feel that here but I can get started on decorating.

Happy Friday everyone. What do you like to do for fall weekends. It's a bit early here for any festivities. I am anxiously awaiting pumpkin patches, hay rides, fall art fairs. We won't be doing anything "fall-ish" this weekend though it will be on my mind.
