What I Wore Wednesday & Scenes from Thanksgiving in Arizona

Not really a What I Wore Wednesday post this week. I didn't really have any pictures taken of me while we were away and I haven't had the time at home. Baking has been tying up my days and I haven't had the time to worry with wardrobe, aside from my very cute Anthropologie aprons. I am going to try to get back on track next week, I've missed it. Here is a picture, however, that my MIL took while we were there. This is my dessert look, a simple tee, skinny jeans, and Toms tennies.

I am linking up with Lindsay at The Pleated Poppy.

While we were visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday we took a trip to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. It's such a beautiful place. The view of the mountains, the cactus, the butterfly garden. It was a wonderful afternoon. At first I thought, well, If I have seen one cactus I have seen them all, and I have seen a lot since we have been traveling to Arizona, but I have to admit this was different. The entire park was just beautiful and I had a wonderful time. Here are a few pictures we took while we were there.

I am so excited for the holiday festivities to begin. We have a busy weekend, which is how it will be for the rest of the month.
This weekend we have breakfast with Santa, our annual Christmas Parade, and a trip to the Christmas Tree Farm. Very excited to begin.

Have a great day.

This and That.....

I love Oh Joy's blog post This and That and I have wondered how she is able to find two things that are so much a like and yet completely different products. Really fun. Well, I had a little inspiration of my own for this type of post.

This pillow... found on Pinterest via Potterybarn

And this cake....that I made for a birthday

by the way I love that pillow and thinking it would go really nicely in my little lady's room re-do.

Have a great day.

Cardigans

Hi there. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend. I have a long day of travel today.. I had a great visit but can't wait to get home to my house, my bed, and my dog. I missed her terribly. We did some really gun things and I have some great pictures to share later in the week.

It was a bit cooler than at home which had me thinking about this post. I could have used a few warmer sweaters. Here are a few to think about.

I love cardigans and I can't get enough. I think I have about 14 different ones for all seasons. I wear mostly about 8 and the others are there when I feel inspired to do something different.

Here are some really cute choices to add to my collection.

Jcrew

Loft

Banana Republic

Forever 21

Jcrew

Modcloth

I think I really love the last one. Which one is your favorite?

Have a great day.

Great Casual Fall Look

I am heading out to Arizona for the Thanksgiving holiday and this look would be perfect. It's perfectly comfortable, casual, has the right "flare" for Arizona, and it just looks great. I could do it all but the cardigan, which is way too pricey for me, but the rest is very reasonable.

This is what I wish I were wearing this Wednesday.

Simply Livly Necklace

I am so excited about this post. I was thrilled when i was asked by Pam at Simply Livly to review one of her necklaces on my blog. She sent me this necklace as a lovely gift and I love it. it is so versatile and goes with so many different things. I am a casual person and this necklace takes a casual look to the next level. I think it would look lovely with a white collared shirt, a simple knit dress, it would look great with a top, really anything.

This day I wore it with a tee and tied it a little shorter so that it was more like a bib necklace. I can't tell you how many compliments I receive when I wear it. The jersey knit of the necklace is so comfortable it was really easy to wear. The beads are beautiful and the construction is really top notch.

I totally recommend this necklace to all of you lovely ladies. Be sure to add it to your Christmas list.
You won't be disappointed. Take a look here for all the different styles available.

Thank you so much Pam. This is my new favorite jewelry piece!

Have a great day.

Scenes from the weekend

The weekend was a busy one.

On Saturday I took a photography workshop. The workshop was True Emotion Photography Workshop and if you are interested in taking better pictures this is one to look for. I learned some new skills, I have to definitely practice, but I think in time I will be able to take some great pictures. I love pictures, love to take them and love to look at them so this was right up my alley. I learned to use my camera in "manual" mode. I have always used mine in "auto" mode and have gotten some great pictures and a LOT of bad ones. Now I am able to take pictures the way that I want and have learned what all of those buttons mean on my camera. I also learned that I have a really great lens with great zoom. Who knew. We don't have an elaborate camera but not a point and click so I was happy with the quality of the zoom for the level of camera that I have

We also went to a local art fair. The Fall Festival of DeLand. We had a great time and I got to do some practice. We spent a lot of time outside on Sunday as it was beautiful. Fun playing in the yard, bike riding, and putting up a few Christmas decorations. Yes, Christmas. We travel for Thanksgiving and I just want a bit of Christmas when I get home.

Here are a few shots that I took at the work shop. I love the one where the subject is in focus and everything is blurry. Cool Stuff!

Art Fair Fun!

Have a great Monday.

A Giving Tree via The Handmade Home

I came across this on The Handmade Home
as I was reading some blogs and thought it was a fantastic idea.

We will be traveling for Thanksgiving and will be leaving next Wednesday so I am hopeful that we will have time to get to this before we leave. I think it is a great way for little ones to really appreciate the meaning of Thanksgiving and to recognize what things they are truly grateful for.

I'll start here, I am grateful for all of my readers and followers. This little blog has given me countless hours of enjoyment and I am thankful that I started it, that I have readers who also enjoy it, and that I am still blogging.

This is a Free Downloadable. Get it today and start your giving tree. Just follow the link above for how to's.

Isn't it pretty?

Have a great weekend. I am off to a photography workshop. I am hoping to enhance my photography skills and post some better pictures. Wish me luck. I am also hoping to be able to put together my Giving Tree with my daughter before we head off for our Holiday to Arizona. Then we will be going to a local art fair. Lots to do this weekend.
