Rustic- Love

One of my favorite color combinations is gray and yellow and I love this look, a bit rustic, but would be great in a cottage. And with the holiday of love coming up I thought this was fitting.

Things are still hectic in my household, but will soon be back to normal.

I hope you are having a great Wednesday.

Scenes From The Weekend and pretty pictures

I find myself back home in Florida. Back to warmer weather. I was in Kentucky over the end of last week and the weekend to visit my 89 year old grandmother who is in the hospital. I am happy to say that she is out of danger for the moment. I am back in the hospital this time with my hubby. He is not ill but at a rather young age had to have hip replacement surgery. That's what a life of athletics will do to you. Not to worry, he is young and will recover nicely.

I am a bit low on inspiration right now but have some pretty pictures to share with you.

When I dream of my cottage by the sea....this is what I see.

I love that it doesn't scream beach-y, I love the turquoise french doors - so fresh, and I love the rustic feel of the whole place and that front porch, to die for!

All photos are by Graham Yelten Photography and are pictures of his home found on Two Ellie

Have a great Monday.

Etsy Finds

It's cold here today, as a matter of fact it's 9 degrees. I live in Florida, so coming to the cold is making me think about spring, though I will be back to balmy 60 degree temps soon.

Here are a few fun things on Etsy that might brighten and warm up your day.

Dragonfly Hollow 7's shop - Etsy

Tom Bjourn's shop - Etsy

Jane Fosters Shop - Etsy

Milla Love's

I really love the colors in the Tom Bjourn necklace and the pretty airiness of the mobile by Milla Loves.

Have a great weekend and I will be back next week.

Anthropologie Window

I had to go out of town for a family emergency which is the reason for the lack of posts. I thought I would do a quick post and give you something pretty to look at.

I love the Anthropologie window displays and look forward to the changes of season or holiday to see what they are going to come up with next. This one didn't disappoint.

I think this display is very whimsy and perfect for thinking about spring.

Have a great day.

Scenes From The Weekend

Happy Monday. Happy Martin Luther King Day.

I have been lagging a bit on posting and last week was no exception. I am going to do better.

The weekend.....Oh what a weekend. We had a bit of a home disaster, but not to worry, we have taken care of the issue and the house is on the mend. We also had out of town guests, which made for an interesting weekend around the house, but everyone rallied through and the weekend turned out ok.

One of the highlights from the weekend was a trip to an annual Antique and Flea Market extravaganza. It's called Renningers and is three days of FUN. Can I just say, for a brief moment, my home troubles had disappeared. Renningers is the largest Flea Market extravaganza in the South East. It offers two different fairs, one is an antiques and collectibles and the other is a farmers flea market. We only made it to the antique side. We went the first day, as that is the day for all of the great deals and the best finds, and we came home with a few great finds. I forget exactly how large it is, but to see it all you would need all three days. We were able to get through about a third of the entire fair.

In all of the excitement at home I forgot my camera so I apologize for the picture quality.

This is only a small corridor of the fair

These are frames made from antique ceiling tins. Some were left in their original patina while others were painted either this pretty turquoise, red or black.

This booth had thousands, I mean thousands of pieces of Fiesta Ware. I am a huge fan of Fiesta Ware. I have had a set for a long time and am saving it for my beach cottage one day

I just loved this airstream bus. It wasn't for sale but fit right in to the vintage feel of the fair

I just loved these wood boxes, wood and iron stools, so rustic, and these green glass jars.

Rustic pigs made out of reclaimed metal. Very cute and a fun flare to the fair.

Loved these old shutters

Here is our take............

I loved the look of these frames and had to have one....

I couldn't pass up the green glass jar and hope to fill it with large shells

and this blue wood bucket was another can't pass up item. Very rustic and perfect holding some of my favorite decorating magazines and catalogs.

I hope you had a great weekend. See ya back here tomorrow.

The Look For Less

I love the look of these canisters from Pottery Barn. They look so pretty and can be filled with so many different things; sand and shells collected from the beach, candy for a birthday party or wedding anniversary or with spring flowers as shown in the Pottery Barn picture. They are great in any decor and are so versatile.

These at Pottery Barn run from $54.00 to $69.00

I also found these at Target. The same great look for a much lower price tag.

These range in from $19.00 to $24.00.

The look for less. I love finding a great deal and these are a great deal. Have fun decorating.

Getting Organized - Purple Lemon Designs Etsy

Thanks for all of the feed back on my New Look. I'll keep you posted.

I am in organization mode. Today I am actually putting away my Christmas decorations. They have been sitting in my guest bed room for a week. Out of sight out of mind I guess but have company coming in this week so it's time to get things cleaned up, organized and put away.

On the organizing note I found these great label stamps. It's a customized return address stamp. I love these and am going to order my self one.

They are simple, cute, and a nice presentation on cards and letters that you mail out. A nice personal touch.

They also do calling cards,

These are great when you meet someone and want to exchange numbers, so quick and easy.

Personal Stamps

I love these, especially if I borrow a book, it helps me to remember who to return it to.
and Personal Stationary

These are great to use as thank you notes or to jut a simple note for a friend or family member.

Check out this great site on Etsy, Purple Lemon Designs.

Have a great Monday.

New look

It's a new year and I am looking for a new look. I love my hairstyle, but have had the same style for four years. I had long hair for several years before this cut and am trying to decide to stay short or to let it grow. Either way I want to try a new look. I came up with a few looks that I like. Let me know what you think....Long or short.

I found all of these through google hairstyle images.

I love the idea of long hair, it's much more versatile. However, I am drawn to shorter styles.

What do you think?
