Fashion Friday

Did you get up and watch the Royal Wedding this morning?

I didn't think that I would, but, I did. Then I thought I would just record it and have a tea party over the weekend and share it with my little princess, but, I didn't, I woke her up. I just thought that it would be such a memory to remember being woken up to see such a special event. She was thrilled and so was I. One of her favorite parts, and mine, were the hats. Some were grand, some were small, some were funny.

I don't know when the need will be to ever wear such an elaborate hat as we saw today, well, maybe at the Kentucky Derby, but this is a hat that I would love to wear.
You can find it at Urban Outfitters for $39.99.

I feel a bit more proper today, or at least feel like I should be a bit more proper today. Have a great day.

Easter Leftovers

Hi there.

I am mad busy this week with lots of cookie orders, I will share some pictures when they are all done, but I wanted to make a quick post. I thought this was an adorable idea.

I found this on Ohdeedoh. Cute fun for the little ones. I feel kinda bad for the little peep though.\

PEEP SMORES

I don't think you need a recipe, but if you haven't ever made a Smore, here goes.

Take half of a graham cracker
Place half of a Hershey chocolate bar on top
Then you can either
Place under a broiler with peep on top
or warm in microwave until chocolate is soft (without peep)
Place peep back on and top with second half of graham cracker!

YUM!!

Are you planning on watching the Royal Wedding? I am planning a Royal Tea for my little lady for Saturday morning. We are going to have scones, put on our princess dresses and hats while we watch the (recorded)wedding. Sounds like a royal time.

My heart and prayers go out to those in Alabama who have suffered from the tornadoes.

What I Wore Wednesday

Whew! It's already Wednesday. What a busy week. I am linking with Lindsay at the Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.

There are a lot of days in shorts and skirts, that's because it's already hitting the 90's down here. You just have to do what it takes to stay cool.

Running Errands. I started in jeans but it was super hot this day
Stripe T-Shirt - H&M
Shorts - Kohl's

Taking the little one around to her activities
Dress - Walmart
Belt - Kohl's
Sandals - Old Navy

I added the jeans at home because I freeze in the air conditioning. I surrender to that battle between my husband and I.
Jeans - Loft

Lunch with friends
Stripe Cardigan - TJ Maxx
Tank - Old Navy
Shorts - Kohls (again, I only own a few pairs of shorts)
Wow is that cardigan graphic. I need to try it with jeans, maybe.

Easter activities - Easter egg hunt
Head to toe - Old Navy

Easter Sunday
Dress - Max Studio from TJ Maxx

I'm off to keep baking. It's been a good week for my little baking business. I have a bridal shower, a wedding, and a baby shower all this week.

Have a great week and I hope the weather where you are is lovely. Most of you deserve it!!!

A little ruffle here and a little bit there.......

My friend Jen posted this picture on her Facebook. She found this great Cynthia Rowley pillow at Homegoods. I loved it for the ruffle, the colors and the sweetness of it. (thanks Jen for the great find).

I went to Homegoods on Monday, I just happened to be near one that day so I popped in, and they had it. I thought it would look really cute on my little ones bed. Her bedding is all of the same colors from Pottery Barn.

I have been trying to find some co-ordinating pillows to complete her bed as I don't like a set, I like things to look like they were collected over time. So, when I saw her post I thought it would look perfect.

Then today I saw this cute dress from Garnet Hill and I thought that it reminded me of this pillow. For only $26.00 I think my little lady would look sweet in the pink and orange one.

You just can't beat a little bit of ruffle.

Have a great night.

Flea Market love...

I went out to the flea market today. Whew, It was HOT!!! Hello Summer already! But I still had a great time. Didn't have any great finds, this week, though I did buy some great flowers at great prices and great fruit too. I saw some great things, but since the last time I got yelled at for taking pictures, I am just a bit leery. So no pictures to share of this weeks trip. I do have, however, some things I have bought in the past or saw that I want to share.

Beautiful orchids

This hand made bed is GORGEOUS. I don't know if it's original or reproduction. This is the man that wasn't too happy with my picture taking. He said I would probably try to copy his work, nah, just taking pictures for this little blog.

Love this tea set. My favorite color is orange. Didn't buy it and have looked for it since. Not meant to be.

I did buy these.......

Petty necklace of a southern belle for my little Southern Belle!

White candlesticks

Silver sail boat, great for my new storage unit and coastal theme

Blue, blown glass, orb -j ust thought it looked beach-y

Have a great day.

Hello Monday

Hello Monday. I am ready for you today, though I would have loved to have held you off a little while and held on to the weekend.

What did you do this weekend?

We enjoyed Spring, Palm Sunday and a little bit of early Easter celebrating. Had a few nice dinners, one al fresco - love to be able to eat outside.

Today, Monday, was a hectic day. I spent the day running errands, driving the car for repairs, returning a few items, purchasing a few Easter items, buying some necessary items, running to a Daisy troop meeting, putting together easter baskets and now cooking the family dinner. What to do for an Easter gift for my hubby? We don't do a whole lot for each other, my hubby and I, we usually buy what we want when we want it, but this year we decided to get ourselves something. I'll share in a bit.

For now on to my post, I want to share these great finds, take a look at these...>

These are great for a neutral, coastal palette ( so lucky that's my home). I have the solid gray ones on my bed. These are from Ikea and they are a steal. Two covers for only 9.99. You can't beat it and they look really high end.

I have this one that I found at Target as an accent pillow on a chair to coordinate with my bedding and the gray pillows. I found it on clearance just a week ago for $7.98. I think it's great and pulls the beige in my duvet to the gray in the throw pillows.

Ok, now on to the gift that my husband and I are buying for each other,

This is a cooler from Pottery Barn. It's a soft pack and has speakers for your I-pod. It's a bit pricey at $89.00. For a cooler, Really? But, we spend a lot of time at the beach. We are so lucky to live smack in the middle, between Disney World and the beach. It will really pay - off. Plus, the beach is a free activity. I'm excited. We have be sans music at the beach for a few years now and this will be just the ticket.

Have a great Monday.

Ahhhh Saturday!!!

It's been this kinda day today. The weather is wonderful- breezy, sunny, spectacular. I can smell the jasmine growing in my backyard reminding me of my days on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. I'm loving life today and wanted to share the easy breezy feeling I'm having today. I hope it's warm and beautiful where you are.

Have a happy evening.

Fashion Friday

Now, I'm not a fashion blogger, but I am a blogger about simple living, bargain shopping and a great find and I came across these dresses that I thought fit all of those things. You are never going to guess where they are from. Ok, well, you might. Anyhow, they are really cute.

I love the piping trim on this one....

Not a good picture, but the trim around the neck is really cute...

This is a really pretty red color and the trim again around the neck is really pretty....

You can't go wrong with a classic shirt dress, so effortless and stylish....

This is a top, need I say I love the stripes. This would be great with jeans for a night out or with dressier pants or skirt for church or work. Cute.

Ok, you already know, they are from Target. I love Target. Each item was priced from $29.99 to $39.99. Not too bad for stylish looks.

Have a great Friday. Head to Target!
