Great Accessories, Just in time for the holidays

Things I am loving from Anthropologie, my favorite store ever. It's hard to shop there since it's so expensive, but you can get the Anthropologie feel by buying a piece or two of jewelry. Great looks just in time for the holidays!

I haven't always loved jewelry. Honestly, I would wear the same earrings and necklace for days at a time. I still do that some, but I now have an eye for some pieces. I have enjoyed vintage pieces lately and have found a few items at the flea market in the last few weeks. I'll share them soon. It really can make you feel good about how you look and reinvent an outfit.

Have a great evening.

So here are my looks for the week. I would love to dress up more, but when you are just dropping off at school and running errands, I don't have the motivation. I guess one of the great benefits with staying and working at home is that you have the benefit of being comfy. I am a casual person at heart, but love getting dressed up when I have an occasion.

Have a great day! Only two more days to Halloween Weekend! Can't wait.

Yummy cupcakes

Ok. So today I had a banana that was going bad and a cake due for my decorating class. I decided to make a banana chocolate chip cake with chocolate buttercream frosting! It turned out better than I expected. I had left over batter and decided to make these cupcakes. They turned out delicious.

I simply mashed banana into a vanilla cake batter and added chocolate chips. It took a bit longer to cook, but turned out really great.

Misha Lulu

Hi. I know it's Tuesday but I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did, but, I'm exhausted. I spent the day yesterday running around and doing errands that I didn't do over the weekend. We had beautiful weather and spent a lot of time outside. This time of year is the reason I live in Florida. It's supposed to even be "cool" for Halloween. Yahoo! Now, for us, cool is in the 60's. It will be the first in many years. We have lots of fun activities planned for the halloween weekend so I am happy with the weather report.

Well, now that Halloween is almost over I have moved, mentally, towards the holidays. I was on line yesterday searching for holiday outfits for my little one. I found this cute kids line while searching and think it's adorable, Misha Lulu. Very sweet, simple, fun and girly, but not too much. It has a crafted look too which I think is perfect.

All the looks are really cute and aren't these little girls too dang cute! I love the blue and white, vertical, striped dress for Thanksgiving or maybe even Christmas. I think it would be nice for a non-traditional look.

The line can be purchased on-line at Mishalulu.com (or click on the link above to take you to their site) as well as in local kids boutiques and they also have a really great blog. Take a look at their site to find where shopping would be best for you.

Have a great day!

Pretty pictures

Some pretty pictures

This is the view that is in my neighborhood on the walk to my daughters school. The sunrise was just beautiful this morning with the low fog! It's a beautiful way to start the day.

Have a great Friday and Weekend!

Flea Market Finds

Check out the other great flea market items I found this week. It was a good week.

Vintage wooden tool box $12.00

Vintage tablecloth $3.00 - I just love the golden colors
Vintage picture frame $3
I love to take old picture frames, paint the glossy white, and frame my daughters art work in them. I am loving this one though with it's chippy paint! Will have to decide what to put in it!

$2 Boots

Check out these boots. Okay, here is the back story. I saw these at the flea market in early spring. I saw them from across the isle and rushed over. I loved them at first sight. I asked the vendor what size, a 5 he said. Aw Man! He told me to try them on. I replied "I don't think so, I wear a size 7". I walked away extremely disappointed. They were only $8 Bucks!!! So yesterday I'm walking through the flea market on a very crowded day. I spot this pair of boots. I rushed right over, even excusing myself as I asked another patron to please pardon me. I grabbed the boots, checked the size and low and behold, they were, you guessed it a size 5! What are the odds. I told the man that I had seen the boots months ago and he said he remembered me. He told me he was tired of the boots and to make him an offer. I jokingly said "$2 dollars"! He said ok. Then I thought, what am I going to do with a pair of boots that are two sizes too small? So, I decided to stick my size 7 foot into the boots to see if maybe, just maybe, boot sizes run big. Not a chance my foot was a bit stuck. Then as I was trying to get my big foot out of the boots this lady comes by and says to the man "did you say those boots were $2 dollars". He said "yes, but she has dibs on them". The lady said that her granddaughter just started taking riding lessons. I almost said "here you go", but then thought about my daughter. I told him I would take them. By this time I had created quite a commotion with almost letting the boots go to someone else. I paid the $2 dollars and walked away with pride. I thought, one day my daughter will be able to wear them and until then, I will just display them somewhere. Aren't they fabulous! I am still on the hunt for a pair that is my size!

Here is my little lady trying them out. Today she loves them, she is only five. I hope by the time she can fit in to them she will still love them. But, hey, they were only $2 BUCKS!!!

Trends

In lieu of my post yesterday for What I Wore Wednesday, I was feeling less than enamored at my outfits. Most of it is what I'm able to put together. It's tough to be creative when it's so warm out. It's dresses or pants and tops. Not a lot of layering going on. Anyhow, it inspired me to do a little on line shopping.

Here are some great looks that I found.

Doesn't that sweater look so cozy? And those shoes are adorable!!

All items and images from ruche.com. This is one of my favorite online stores!

Have a great day.

Shoes - I don't remember - at an Outlet in PA

My favorite place to shop is Anthropologie, since it's so far away (about an hour) and pretty expensive, I try to create the look for less. I shop at TJ Maxx, Target, and recently have started thrift shopping. I have a friend that has all of these cute clothes and every time I ask her where she got a cute top or dress, she inevitably would say "Goodwill". I went on a thrift shopping trip with her and other girl friends and couldn't believe the buys we found. I posted about it a few weeks ago. I found clothes from Banana Republic, The Gap, Old Navy and Ann Taylor. All items were around $3.50 except for the "clearance" items that were by the pound. Now don't get me wrong, you have to sort through quite a bit to find some treasures, but if you are diligent you can find some great deals. I had a friend, a few days ago, ask me where I bought a dress, she said she really liked it, (I forgot to take a picture of it), and I hesitated saying that I found it at the flea market. But, you know what, I decided that there is nothing wrong with finding something great and saving money. The hunt is so much fun.

Have a great fashion day.
