We finished remodeling our dining room. Tell me what you think. We took our style in a completely different direction, more like the rest of our house. It's not drastic, new window treatments, new furniture and a new wall color. I love the wall color. It's different than the rest of the house that is painted beige (as of today) but still in the coastal scheme of things. It reminds me of stormy, beach skies.
I think it's a bit more dramatic and I love the paint color against the dark tone of the table. We found the buffet at World Decor (which is going out of business) at a really great price, only $400.00. We were looking at one at Crate and Barrel, that is really close to the one we bought, that was more in the $1200.00 range. The drapes came from Ikea and were a steal. The table we found at World Market. We sold our previous table and the money we made from that we used to buy the new table and all of the chairs. We found the lamps on the buffet at Target for only $30.00/each. These lamps are almost identical to lamps that Pottery Barn sells for three times the price. The hanging light fixture came from West Elm for only $149.99. We had been looking for a barrel shade light fixture for some time and came across this one for about half the price as most we had seen. The Boyer Candy artwork was in the previous room and is a one of a kind that was made from a matchbook. There is personal/family history in that artwork.
The only thing we have left to do is some artwork for the back wall. We took some great pictures while we were away for spring break that we might use, as most of the artwork in our home are pictures that we've taken, we'd love to continue that in our dining room redo.
It all came together really inexpensively for a complete redo.
